DRC’s office is open for in-person visits!
DRC’s office will be open to the public for in-person meetings beginning Monday, November 15th 2021. Since the beginning of the pandemic, DRC has been open and providing service to Kansans with disabilities through telephone, internet and other remote methods. This was mostly no different for our clients, because prior to the pandemic, DRC’s services were already almost entirely provided through telephone, internet and other remote methods.
In an effort to maintain the highest standards of safety for our clients and staff, N 95 or KN 95 masks are required for all visitors to DRC’s offices, regardless of vaccination status. N 95 or KN 95 masks are provided to visitors at a station set up outside of the DRC office space. We encourage social distance of at least 6 feet wherever possible. DRC will have additional policies and procedures in place internally to ensure the safety of our clients, staff, and the public. An excess of caution is necessary due to the nature of the populations that DRC serves. Senior citizens and people with disabilities are disproportionately at a higher risk regarding COVID-19 related illnesses. We want to ensure that we eliminate as much risk as possible. Masking with N 95s or KN 95s is a simple yet effective way to do this. Requests for reasonable accommodation due to disability are always seriously considered for any service issue, including this mask requirement.
As always, people with disabilities can also contact DRC via the phone or online. Call our toll-free number at 1-877-776-1541, email us at info@drckansas.org, or fill out our online intake form.
